NGO Darpan is an initiative by NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), aimed at creating a transparent interface between Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) / Voluntary Organizations (VOs) and the Government of India.

This online platform enables NGOs to:

  • Register centrally with the Government,
  • Access information on government schemes,
  • Apply for grants and benefits,
  • And maintain accountability and visibility in their operations.

📋 Overview

During the pandemic and other national crises, NGOs played a vital role in providing essential services like food, healthcare, and shelter. Much of their funding is sourced from government schemes and donations. To avail these, NGOs must register on the NGO Darpan portal to access relevant schemes and grants.

👥 Who Can Apply for NGO Darpan Registration?

📂 Documents Required for NGO Darpan Registration

Ensure the following documents and details are ready before applying:

  1. PAN Card of the organization
  2. Address Proof of the organization
  3. Date of Registration (Mentioned in Trust Deed / Certificate)
  4. PAN and Aadhaar Cards of key governing members
  5. Incorporation documents:
    • Trust Deed / Society Registration Certificate / Certificate of Incorporation
  6. Valid mobile number and email ID of all governing members
  7. Details of current and proposed activities
  8. Details of income/funding sources (received or expected)
  9. Information about the Executive Committee members:
    • Chairperson / President
    • Secretary / CEO / Chief Functionary
    • Treasurer

🔄 Step-by-Step Process for NGO Darpan Registration

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

Go to: https://ngodarpan.gov.in

Step 2: Sign Up

  • Use a valid mobile number and email ID
  • Create a User ID and Password

Step 3: Enter Basic Details

Fill in:

  • NGO/VO Name
  • PAN Number and upload PAN Copy
  • Names and contact details of:
    • Secretary
    • Treasurer
    • Chief Functionary
  • Governing body member details
  • Upload necessary documents

Step 4: OTP Verification & Additional Info

  • Verify the mobile number using the OTP received
  • Login and provide:
    • Type of NGO
    • Act under which registered
    • City, Date, and Number of Registration
    • Validity and Registration Certificate
    • If multiple registrations, provide info for all

Step 5: Review & Submit

  • Recheck all details and submit
  • If all information is correct, registration is typically granted within 3–5 working days

You will receive a Unique ID from NITI Aayog after approval.


📌 Post-Registration Requirements

After receiving your NGO Darpan Unique ID:

  1. 🎫 Mention Unique ID in all grant applications
  2. 📑 Maintain updated records and submit:
    • Annual reports
    • Audited financial statements
    • Activity details
  3. 🧾 Submit updates regarding key functionaries and projects to the portal regularly
  4. 📤 File information annually to concerned ministries as required
